The North America Taiwanese Professors Association (NATPA) Young Scholars Program is currently accepting applications for travel support to attend the 2017 NATPA Annual Conference.
Travel support includes:
- Airfare (per person) or mileage reimbursement (per car) up to $500
- Room for 3 nights (8/4, 8/5, 8/6) shared by two
- Meals during conference (8/5 and 8/6)
- Conference registration fee is waived
To be eligible, applicants must be Taiwanese or Taiwanese American graduate students, recent graduates, or postdoctoral scholars. Award recipients are required to give a presentation in the Young Scholars session scheduled for the conference. Subject to the total support request, NATPA plans to award ten or more applications this year. Selection will be based on the applicants’ qualifications, evidence of active community involvement, and the proposed topic for presentation. Priority will be given to presentations on applied research in science, technology, culture, education, social study, economics, or political science related to current issues in Taiwan or sustainable development of Taiwan.
